For Sentimental Reasons
Written and Directed by Judith Moore
Judith Moore (co-author with Memrie Innerarity of Stories To Be Read With a Southern Accent, a hit of the 2004 woodstock fringe) returns as writer and director with For Sentimental Reasons. In this funny and moving memory play, we meet Priscilla, an African-American woman who is rapidly approaching Senior Citizen status. Pricilla invites us into her cheery kitchen where she recalls the shining hour of her life, when in 1961, her best friend, Rosalie manages to land two free passes to a Sam Cooke concert at the Harlem Square Club in North Miami. Wanda L. Houston, plays Priscilla, fresh from her Broadway engagement in the Roundabout Theatre production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Five performances.
