We will have the chance to hear an early draft of a new play Burning the Ocean Dry a play set in the Terrezin Concentration camp near Prague during WW2 and in the Catskills, the Borscht Belt, during the 1950's. It is the story of two sisters and their struggle for survival in a most unusual set of circumstances and in a most unusual camp.

New Songs - The Music of Jared Dembowski  - Thurs, Sept 2 at 8pm & Fri, Sept 3 at 5pm

Working collaboratively with the very talented singer/actor, Watson Heintz, songwriter Jared Dembowski and Watson will present a workshop performance of new songs and speak about the new songs, how they came to be and invite the audience to be part of the creative process.  Jared recently said, "At the beginning of 2010, I began a conversation with Watson about how I was feeling a little bit creatively defunct over the past few months. I had been writing to be sure, but it was mostly only revising or revisiting past works. I hadn't really created anything new in awhile and decided I needed to change that. Watson had agreed and said she was in need of immersing herself into something creative as well so we began talking about doing a collection of new (and possibly some old, yet unsung) pieces written solely by me that were very loosely connected by a simple theme.  Sounds exciting, right? I thought so too! So, I hung up the phone and ran to my piano, sat down and was ready to compose, but there was one thing missing. Words. I needed words to set to music and these words had to center around a theme. Many years ago when I first began writing, I didn't have a lyricist or know any for that matter. And then....one day....I found one. Well, more than one....I found thousands. They just wrote in a different way. Poems....Epitaphs....Psalms....PERFECT! I had so many 'lyrics' to choose from! So, I chose a few of my favorites and started composing. That's how I first began writing. That's how I got my start. And that, is how I begin....again."

In Trouble! A New Play by Jerry McGee  - Sat, Sept 4 at 2pm

Working with director Nicola Sheara and featuring actress Noni Connor, Jerry, Nicola and Noni will be in residence working with Jerry to develop his new play. What is a CIA operative to do? All he wants is to save the country. His partner, Bill, disappears with a crucial package. People are breaking into his apartment. Bill’s wife barges in. And she won’t leave. A brand new romantic thriller by Jerry McGee, wildly funny, intensely gripping. If Bourne Identity met Three Days Of The Condor and could be savagely funny, it would be this.
