Ken Lovelett, Gus
Mancini and Studio Stu
2 performances –
Wed. Aug. 19 at 8pm, Sun. Sept. 6 at 5:00pm
Together for more than 15 years, the ensemble
performs free-crafted music morphing seamlessly from
meditative drones to minimalist grooves, to
avant-garde jazz, classical movements, blues and
spoken word. Gus Mancini dazzles on keyboards, horns
and rhythm. Ken Lovelett plays his own invention,
“sound sculpture” percussion instruments, and Studio
Stu completes the master ensemble performing on the
Studavarious one-string bass and percussion.

Joe and Jerry offer two different and highly
complementary approaches to songwriting. Joe is
drawn to the theme of love (or lack of love), while
Jerry is not. The common thread binding the songs of
these Brooklyn-born songwriters is their desire to
capture different people and moments in a way that a
listener can actually feel. Area music lovers are
well acquainted with Veillette and Mitnick from
their work with the Phantoms, Blind Mice and the JV
Squad and will appreciate this rare opportunity to
hear their original songs.`
